sometimes i glance at this empty bed, and see the outline of a little boy - and sometimes i see my mother.

happy mother's day.
past. present. future. pending.

Hi Virginia,

even without knowing the story here, I felt immense sadness...for you?
Anniversaries are times not only for joy but for reflection too.

Best wishes.

the past always nudges into the present, and i guess this contemplation was, in part, prompted by a sister who lost her son in 2000 - for a few years, our sons looked very much alike, except for coloring.

i've lived in this house for 33 years, so i often feel as if images of my past life are captured in whisper-thin planes of existence, and if the light hits that imagined surface just right, time margins disappear.

thank you for your thoughtful comment.
