Beautiful! I keep wondering how you make these - which process you use...

it started out as "slashed" silk, flaps ironed back to reveal an underlayer. it needed texture or something, so i embellished with a dimensional acrylic paint (squeeze bottle) and a metallic marker.

for this posting, i scanned the fabric piece and imported into photoshop, and manipulated with so many processes i can't remember! hue/saturation, levels, contrast, invert, color replacement.

see this more complicated piece: http://colorinformal.blogspot.com/2008/01/golden-garden-of-winking-stars.html

because i wasn't taught the "proper" use of photoshop, i am completely uninhibited in my experiments.

in my personal style, i prefer simple and unembellished. i love Gryphon, listed under my burlap:chiffon:fishnets category.

Thanks, Virginia! Quite a process... but the result is absolutely gorgeous!

I'm pretty new to Photoshop, and I don't know what to think of it, really...

thanks.

once i discovered that i could "step backward" in photoshop, i experimented away.

if i lived near you, i would show you! i'll see if i can find some photoshop links.
